(23) APhA-ASP supports the formation of a subgroup to consist of at least one member of each professional pharmacy organization in order to provide a unified meeting ground and voice for the profession.
Reasons for the Action(s) / Pros and Cons:
There is currently no unified organization for pharmacy organizations to provide a singular voice for all pharmacists in the country (like the AMA for doctors). This divide causes difficulty when lobbying for pharmacists’ rights. Having a counsel of pharmacists that meet in a group from each separate organization would enable the profession to share ideas on different topics and lobby together as a whole.
