(22) APhA-ASP supports the labeling of quantities and types of herbal supplements in food and beverage products.
Reasons for the Action(s) / Pros and Cons:
Many energy drinks and foods contain items like ginseng, but there is no labeling of the type of ginseng or potency of the herb used. This resolution promotes the labeling of all food and beverages that contain such herbs in an effort to let the patient population know exactly what they are consuming.
