R2 PRT: Clinical Activities - Wording/action:
(16) 2008.2 APhA-ASP suggests that pharmacies include a “clinical activities” room allowing the pharmacists to practice his/her full capabilities.
Reasons for the Action(s) / Pros and Cons:
A disease cannot be treated if the patient is unaware of their condition. A “clinical activities” room would allow for more screenings in community pharmacies, which would increase awareness amongst the public. Sadly, not all pharmacists wish to conduct screenings or partake in clinical activities, but the pharmacists who are interested should be given the opportunity and resources to do so.
